In August 2014, it was time to set to work crushing and bottling for our 2014 christmas gift sets! Dan cleaned the remainder of his seed from the 2012 growing year (another wonderful characteristic of this oilseed is that it stores for years in whole seed form).

This seed was sewn in the Fall of 2011. This allowed the crop to get a good head start in the Spring and emerge before any weeds or pests could get the best of it! The growing season was fantastic with rains early on and dry conditions leading into harvest. In late September, this crop was harvested and sure enough, it yielded a seed with optimal oil value and jam packed with Omega-3 and Vitamin E.

Golburn Valley Oilmills pressed the seed in late August and it was transported to Northern Nutraceuticals in Spalding in early September 2014. We set to work bottling the 100ml Original for our christmas trio sets. We hope you enjoy!
