THE LATEST FROM THREE FARMERS

By the end of December 2012, we were once again ready to fire up our presses but this time we were going to do things a little bit differently. We were going to change our pressing location for this batch and press in the same facility that we bottle at. Very convenient and highly efficient! So we phoned up Colin and had him deliver 10 tonne of seed to Spalding for us.
This crop was seeded by Colin on May 17th, 2012. It was a very clean crop and had a great start. It endured some heat stress in July when the rains quit but given this seeds drough resistant properties, the negative impact on the yield of the crop was minimal. In fact, the dry conditions carried into harvest which guaranteed that top quality seed was taken off this field on August 23, 2012. Bin temperatures were then closely monitored to ensure that the seed remained in perfect condition until it was ready to be hauled to our pressing facility in Tisdale.
On January 2nd, 2013, and after a little bit of difficulty and tweaking of some new expellers they had just installed, Northern Nutraceuticals were back in business and pressing lot 024 of our Camelina seed! We then passed it through a 1 micron paper filter and immediately began filling bottles of our 250 ml Original Camelina Oil.
We hope you enjoy!
